Welcome to my website!

Whilst I am in Cairns I will be updating this website with lesson plans, a blog and pictures as well as checking out the questions you have posted for me and the Scientists I am working with on the Forum.

To make sure you can find everything you need there are a few tasks I would like you to carry out...

What to do:

Task 1: Work out how to open another link without closing the original lesson plan. *Hint* right click and open another window OR tab - use this skill to help anser the following quesitons.

  1. Where do you find the Forum for Wallan Secondary College? What can you do on the Forum?
  2. What will you be able to find on my ‘Highlights’ page?
  3. Write down the labels given to the 8 pictures on the Photo Gallery.

Task 2: Find the Research summary for 2010 Climate change in the rainforest – answer the following questions in full sentences in your workbook:

  1. What increase do climate models predict for Queensland in the next century?
  2. How will this increase affect the animals in the Wet tropics?
  3. As temperatures increase, what will happen to the animals’ topographic range?
  4. Why will some animals be restricted from shifting their range?
  5. What is the name of the head Scientist? What University does he work for?
  6. What is the aim of the experiment I will be helping with?
  7. What animals will we be sampling?
