My Highlights
Day 1 Welcome to the Earthwatch Rainforest Expedition
| The Earthwatch Rainforest Team ![]() | The Team comprises of the Principal Investigator, Prof. Steve Williams, his Research Staff, some Corporate volunteers and of course, the Teachers!!! We are rostered on each day for various scientific research studies. These include: bird watching, frog, skink, gecko and bat surveys and night spotlighting. The first few days one questioned "who put the rain in rainforest?" As it pelted down, we plodded around!!! It has been really great to be "out there" and my highlights have included getting to know the other volunteers, learning about the scientific research but mostly "checking out" the rainforest critters!!! You would love it! |
| My Place ![]() | This is my place. A habitat to hide from the predators (i.e the leeches!!!) and the rain. The leeches have been ferocious and I have many battle scars to show you!!! Sometimes, leeches accidently land in your eye, checkout the Photo Gallery for evidence of this!!! |
| My Neighbour: Northern Barred Frog ![]() | This incredibly beautiful northern barred frog was outside my tent, hunting for insects and enjoying the rain!!! |
