Welcome to our team of Victorian teachers, their students and schools to 2010 Earthwatch TeachLive.

Our Climate Change in the Rainforest team will help scientists explore the magnificent Wet Tropics of North Queensland to monitor a diverse array of forest animals.

The teachers will spend two weeks in the Wet Tropics of Northern Queensland hiking the tropical rainforests to monitor a diverse range of forest flora and fauna. They will be working alongside award-winning scientist and Director of the Centre for Tropical Biodiversity and Climate Change (CTBCC) at James Cook University, Queensland, Dr Stephen Williams. Volunteers will learn how thousands of species are responding to global climate change.

During their Northern Queensland expedition the team will teach live back to their schools via this website. Through lesson plans, daily highlights, daily photos and via the interactive forum students will be able to communicate with their teachers in real time every day. The 2010 Earthwatch TeachLive program will provide teachers, schools and local communities in Victoria with a unique educational tool that enhances the teaching of science and engagement of students.
